Read moreOn Wednesday 3rd October 2018 the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited the Brighton Pavilion as part of their tour of Sussex, where they took in the newly restored Saloon. Read moreBuilt for George IV when he was Prince of Wales, the Royal Pavilion in Brighton is one of the most extravagant buildings of its age. This weekend celebrates the grand re-opening of the Saloon, following conservation and restoration work started in 2002 and costing in the region of £390,000. The room is now faithfully restored to its 1823 glory.

Chippendale 300
Read more2018 marks 300 years since the birth of Thomas Chippendale, he became a cabinet-maker in London, designing furniture in the mid-Georgian, English Rococo, and Neoclassical styles. His legacy and talent is on display at many of our great houses and museums, a number of which are holding their own ‘Chippendale 300’ celebrations of this special tercentenary.

Royal Wedding; Green Drawing Room fabric
Read moreHumphries Weaving were commissioned to weave a deep green, pure silk damask (woven wide width) for the Green Drawing Room fabric restoration which used the ‘George and Mary Damask’ design. The fabric can be seen in wall panels and on the furniture suite, it was also used in the restoration of the window drapes. Twenty-six years on the damask still provides a warmth and richness to this much used and photographed room.
